Most advice loves grit. Grit on a dead idea is just expensive denial.

Cancelling an idea after a clear test is a win. You bought information with less time than a six-month wander.

How to cancel cleanly

1. Write the original bet in one sentence.
2. Write what you learned that falsified it.
3. Archive the notes. Do not keep a zombie repo “just in case.”

Then start the next idea with an empty active slot, not a pile of guilt.

Backlogr forces the cancel or complete gate so the pile never forms.
